Privacy Policy

NoteLeaf is a note-taking app for iPad and iPhone. This policy explains what data the app and our servers handle, why, and the choices you have. In short: your notes are yours, they are never used for advertising, and you can use the app without an account.

Using NoteLeaf without an account

Your notebooks, handwriting, text, PDFs, recordings and other content are stored on your device. Without an account, none of this content is sent to us. Handwriting and speech recognition run on your device.

If you create an account

• Sign-in. With Sign in with Apple or Google we receive a stable user identifier from that provider. With an email code we use your address to send the code and keep only a cryptographic hash of it to recognize you next time.
• Sync and backup. Notebooks you sync are stored on our servers so they can reach your other devices. We store a device identifier and platform to manage your sessions.
• Shared links. If you share a notebook as a link, a read-only copy is stored until you revoke the link.

Purchases

Subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple. We receive transaction identifiers from Apple to confirm what you have purchased. We never see your payment details.

AI add-on

AI features are optional and only available with the AI add-on. Before a feature first sends anything, the app asks for your consent. Only the content you choose for a request is sent to our AI service provider to produce the answer. It is not used for advertising.

Ads

The free version shows ads outside your notebooks. Ads are not personalized and NoteLeaf does not track you across other companies' apps and websites. The advertising partner may process technical information such as device type and coarse location to deliver and measure ads. Ads never appear on the page while you write, while recording or exporting, or on error and account screens.

Diagnostics

Our servers keep technical metrics such as response times and error counts to keep the service reliable. These never contain the content of your notes.

Your choices and rights

• Export your synced data and delete your account at any time in Settings › Account & Sync. Deletion removes your synced data from our servers within 30 days. Notes on your device are kept.
• You can withdraw AI consent per feature at any time.
• If you are in the EEA or UK you have the right to access, correct, delete and port your data and to object to processing. Contact us using the address below.

NoteLeaf is not directed to children under 13 and is not part of the Kids category.
